The 2011 Mundaring Truffle Festival drew large crowds eager to learn about, taste and buy gourmet food, wine and produce.  Despite the severe weather on both days of the festival, 12 000 people attended over the two days and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Building on the success of previous years, the 2011 programme was a mouth watering menu of delectable feasts and tasty treats brought to you over two delicious days.

For truffle lovers, they learnt how to indulge in a little French affaire! With event creator Alain Fabregues, guest took part in an unique Masterclass learning and tasting delectable truffle delights from three of the best French chefs in Australia.

The Long Table Lunches are the social highlight of the Truffle Festival and this year showcased an amazing mixture of established chefs from across Australia. With dishes such as Cream of Celeriac soup with shaved truffles and truffle oil; Wild mushroom risotto with truffled pangattato, parmesan and shaved fennel; Trio of Linley Valley Pork; Truffled Pork Belly on Cauliflower Puree topped with a scallop; Truffle braised shanks on Vanilla Potato Mash, Mondo Pork and truffle sausage atop a Maple Carrot Quenelle; Sharp Fresh salad leaves dressed in Cheetaning Park Organic Chardonnay Vinegar and White Valrona Truffle Ice with Hazelnut Crumble and Apple and Quince Compote - make sure you get ready to book your spot for 2012 when tickets are released for the 2012 event!

Have you ever fancied producing your own cook book? Our Food for Thought sessions discussed where you can find out all about the wonderful world of publishing and we even discussed topics such as the role of social media and food bloggers in food communication hosted by food journalist Max Veenhuyzen.

And have you ever eaten a Truffle toastie?  Chris Taylor of Fraser’s showed fledgling chefs some great dishes which will delight family and friends! Our little chefs created dishes from risotto to exotic truffle toasties...yum!
